Terms of use

Our terms and conditions comply with UK legislation and are designed to ensure that our customers can shop easily and with confidence with bamboo-textiles.co.uk

These terms and conditions only apply to web site sales.

Pricing

All prices are in £ sterling and inclusive of VAT. Any exceptions will be clearly marked on the website where relevant. Prices exclude the cost of postage which is on a sliding scale, the more you buy the less it costs. See the checkout information.

International customers

Whilst this website is designed with UK customers in mind, we welcome enquiries from customers in other countries. Prices include UK Sales Tax (VAT), currently at 20 %, which may not be payable by overseas customers; however, additional delivery charges will usually apply. Please telephone or email and we will do our best to assist.

Payment

The vast majority of customers pay on line using our checkout system.  The system is absolutely secure and we do not see or have access or retain your card number at all.

However you may pay by any major credit card or debit card if ordering by telephone and we do have to ask for your card number.This is retained on our system but only seen by one person whom we trust implicitly. Please do not send money (notes) in the post. If you choose to pay by credit/debit card, we will only charge your card within 5 days of despatching the goods.

Product availability

Items shown on this website may not always be in stock. If any of your chosen items is not in stock, you will be advised of our best estimate of availability and delivery date at the time you place your order. Please note that an indication of such dates is an estimate only, may be subject to change without notice, and does not constitute a contractual obligation by Bamboo Textiles to supply goods by a certain date. However, if availability is unduly delayed, we will use our best endeavours to keep you informed.

Product images and descriptions

Please note that the colour of images shown on this website may be affected by the technology used to access it. Whilst we do our best to faithfully reproduce colours, some variation may occur. Often the cream bamboo colour comes over white.

Accepting orders and security

When you place an order, either by telephone or in writing, we will treat it as an offer to buy. If we accept your order, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with your order number, at which point we make a legal contract with you. However, we will be entitled to refuse to accept your order if we feel it necessary, in which case we will e-mail you as soon as we can to let you know.

When you receive your e-mail confirmation, you will have an opportunity to check the details and correct any errors.

In deciding whether to accept your order we may use the information you have given to us, or we already hold about you, or which we receive from any enquiry we may make with various agencies, to confirm your identity. This assists us to protect you and us from fraudulent transactions. If we decline your offer on security grounds we may contact you to seek an alternative payment method.

Delivery

Delivery charges displayed on checkout relate to mainland UK only. We welcome enquiries from elsewhere, however, and ask that in these cases you contact us by e-mail, letter or telephone for onward shipping costs to other locations.

So that you receive your order quickly and safely we use the Royal Mail. For larger orders weighing over 10 kgs we use a national carrier and can therefore track the order

There is no compensation for loss or damage up to 10kgs but then it is a sliding scale based on the weight eg 10kgs is £13.99. In the very unlikely event of a parcel being lost we refund you the compensation amount but effectively you take the risk of Royal Mail losing the package. We help chase Royal Mail for you but you have to declare non delivery. Deliveries are made by Royal Mail (normal postage) either as a Standard Parcel or occasionally Parcel Force.

We do not inform you of the tracking number unless you ask.

 Deliveries are usually made between 7am and 5.30pm. Parcels can take up to 4 days to arrive. Our usual despatch day is Friday but we do send out parcels and envelopes on otherdays too. If delivery is very urgent do let us know.

A card will be left if no one is available to accept the item but you will then have to collect from their depot. However if they redeliver to your address there is no charge or you can pay £1 to have it delivered to the Post Office of your choice. They deliver to an address not a named individual. Some customers choose to notify us a place where a parcel can be securely left. Although this is not something we advise our customers should be certain that the postman is their regular one.

It is essential that you give us your phone number so that Parcelforce or other national carrier can contact you if you are not in. We label the parcel with our website address. (except to drop/ship customers)

Returns & Cancellations

We are pleased to offer our cancellation policy, which is in addition to your statutory rights.

  • If you are not 100% happy with a product for any reason you can return within 14 days for an exchange or refund of purchase price. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  • Refund – If you would like a refund we ask that you return the goods you do not want in the same condition they were despatched  and include your details and reason for a refund. We regret that postage and packing incurred in the delivery of the goods to you are direct costs and cannot be refunded except in the case of faulty goods.
  • Exchange – If you would like to exchange we ask that you return them in the same condition they were sent out in and include your details and which item you would like to exchange for. If this item is out of stock we will email with alternatives, if none are suitable we will refund the purchase price. We regret that postage and packing incurred in the delivery of the goods to you are direct costs and cannot be refunded however we will pay the postage of any goods we send back to you.
  • You will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us, and will remain responsible for any and all returned goods until they reach our warehouse. Please obtain proof of postage just in case your parcel goes astray. We will not refund for goods not returned.
  • Returns and exchanges will be processed as soon as possible after arrival but this can take up to 7 days. Don't forget to include your address , order number and email details so that we know who the parcel is from and what is required!
  • Should your purchase disappoint in any way, you may normally cancel your purchase provided you notify us before, or within 14 days after delivery. Your product must be complete, unused and in “as new” condition (e.g. if you have opened the packaging  to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product in any way). It should be returned with the original internal packing and accessories.

     Proof of return will be required for a full refund if requested by us.

    Transit damage

    All goods are examined in detail by ourselves prior to despatch to ensure that they leave our warehouse in perfect condition. However, transit damage unfortunately can occur. If your purchase is showing obvious signs of transit damage upon delivery, please refuse to accept delivery and notify us immediately. If damage is only evident upon opening of packaging, then you must inform us within 48 hours of receipt. We will discuss replacement when you contact us.

    Faulty goods

    Goods are guaranteed in accordance with legislation and your statutory rights.

    Sales on this web site are governed by English law and you agree to submit any dispute to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. All orders are subject to these terms and conditions and no amendments will be accepted by us. These terms and conditions do not affect your legal rights.

    These terms and conditions only cover the Bamboo Textiles web site. Any other web sites to which you link from this site may be governed by their own terms and conditions. We accept no responsibility or liability for the content of web sites which are not under our control.

    We are required by law to tell you that sales can be concluded in English only and that we do not file copies of customer contracts.
